Toy articulated 3D print snake with print in place moving parts – STL

Remember back to the heady days of childhood and the toys that used to sustain us. Cup and ball, yo-yo's and little plastic articulated snakes. This snake takes us back to those days and our memories with all the other toys in Andy's play room.

This 3D print snake STL file is an articulated toy. It is designed for FDM 3D Printers and prints with a 0.4mm nozzle at 0.2mm layer height. The body is made up of print in place moving sections, the head has a moving jaw. The tail and the head attach to the body with push fittings, this gives the body full flexibility in one plane but the head and the tail can move in a different plane for posing.

Tree supports are needed for this model. It is important to get a good first layer for the print in place parts to not bind

Print in place parts may need some work to loosen them up after print. Once free, run them through full travel several times to wear them in. Pins may sheer under excessive force, if they do you can pin them easily.
